Minerva A Coronado
Minerva Adela Coronado, 89, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
She was born December 16, 1933 in Mercedes, Texas.
Minerva worked in the school cafeterias for Port Huron Northern and Fort Gratiot Middle School and also worked at the Dutchess Outpost for over 30 years. Upon retiring, she volunteered at McLaren Port Huron Hospital, Evangelical Home and the Blue Water Lodge where she also participated in painting. Over the years she had met many wonderful country singers from the Grand Ole Opry. She liked to go garage sale shopping and crochet, especially blankets for her family and friends. All holidays and special occasions were always spent surrounded by her family. She liked to be called “Miss Minnie”.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Guadalupe Jr.) Vicencio, David (Ginny) Coronado and Sylvia Coronado; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Connie Putze and the residents at Marwood Nursing and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Stouffer; son, Michael Coronado; mother, Mikaela Barron; sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Jerry) McLaughlin; and brothers, Martin Barron and Steven Ledsworth.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. The Reverend Joseph Gagnon will officiate.
