David A Young, Sr.

David Allen Young Sr., 76, of Lexington, Michigan and Weeki Wachee, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

He was born May 28, 1946 to the late Herbert N. Young and Helen M. Young (Devaney).

Dave, (Dad, Grandpa) loved his family and friends. He always had a smile and positive attitude for everybody and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Dave graduated from Rossford High School in Rossford, Ohio. He received his Electricians degree and worked for Van Dorn Injection Mold for over 30 years. Dave and his late wife, Kristine were retired together for over 20 years and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. He loved his family, grandkids, boating, the water, painting (which he picked up much later in life), building everything, golfing, watching golf, football and cars.

He is survived by his three children, David Allen Young Jr., Tamela (Dennis) Driver and Gary (Amy) Bradt; grandchildren, Tyler Fischer, Jared Bradt, Alexandra Fischer and Alyssa Brad; three siblings, Herbert and Mary Jo Young, John and Tina Young Sr., Mary and Micheal Carlson; brother-in-law, Richard Knapp; many other brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Kristine, on May 23, 2020; his step-father, Walter Devaney; and sister, Sandra Knapp.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1209 Krafft Rd., Port Huron. A luncheon will follow immediately after.

The family would prefer memorial contributions be made in David’s name to PGA Hope Charity. PGA Hope introduces golf to veterans and active-duty military to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
