Connie I Bugajski

May 30th, 1941 to May 26th, 2023

On the evening of Friday, May 26, 2023, Connie Irene Bugajski, 81, of Wales Township, passed away peacefully at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. Connie, a woman beloved by her family and friends, is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Connie was born May 30, 1941 in St. Clair to the late Kenneth and Irene Kendall and grew up on a farm in Columbus Township where she would tend to her family’s fields, livestock, and every other chore that needed to be done. When she was still a teenager, Connie met the love of her life, Walter “Wally” Bugajski, and soon began their long, inspiring lives together.

An exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Connie was a precious soul that thrived on welcoming company inside of her and Wally’s warm home. It didn’t matter whether it was fixing a quick lunch for her husband and grandchildren to enjoy or inviting the whole family over for many holiday dinners. “Connie’s Kitchen” was a cherished place where all were welcomed and left with their hearts and stomachs full. Connie kept a beautiful yard. She spent much time caring for her flowers and helping Wally in the garden, often using the vegetables to make canned goods and fashion her husband with his favorite meals. Wally and Connie did just about everything together, from attending graduations and birthday parties, to taking regular walks around the pond and going out for lunch. The two were inseparable. They were an inspirational model of true love and commitment to their family, friends and their faith. Wally and Connie were long-time members of Columbus Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four children, Keith (Cindy) Bugajski, Timothy Bugajski, Denise Paeth (Rick Mcinnis) and David (Linda) Bugajski; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin (Nikki Basnight), Matthew (Hannah) Bugajski, Timothy Jr. Anthony, Scott Bugajski, and Joseph Paeth (Megan McCullough), Jacob Paeth and Justin Bugajski (Christy Wilson), Josh (Becca), and Lukas (Miranda) Bugajski; three step grandchildren, Michael Osborne, and Elayna and Jaclyn Paling; many great grandchildren; two sisters, Diane (Jake) Schmidt and Linda (Tim) Bateman; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Schleyer, Esther (Bruce) Long and Sharon (Mark) McMullin; brother-in-law, Samuel (Kathie) Bugajski; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Wally”; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Christopher Freeman will officiate.
