Marjorie A Stein
Marjorie Ann Stein, 94, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
She was born January 10, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Raymond and Marie Engelgau. She married Donald F. Stein on September 2, 1950 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2005.
Marjorie was a piano teacher, church organist and seamstress for many years. She was a member of the Port Huron Musicale and Great Books Club. She volunteered her time with the hospital, supported the PTA, International Symphony Orchestra and the Lexington Arts Council where she never missed a performance of the Bach Festival. She also enjoyed the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Marjorie enjoyed her home on the lake, spending time with her children and reveling in the accomplishments of all her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Dan) Keary, Diane Kandler, Lisa Cannon, David (Janine) Stein, Mark (Cherie) Stein and Christopher (Christine Ann) Stein; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, George Kandler and Ralph Cannon; infant grandson, Nathaniel Aaron Stein; brother, Don Engelgau; sisters, Elinor Siemen and Kay Gibson; brother-in-law, Ron Siemen; and sister-in-law, Betty Engelgau.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Neil and Matt Kandler, Sam Bristol, Kevin Hanton, Rob Trombley and Luke Taylor.
