Lois L Coats

Lois L Coats, 85, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord and her family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at her daughter’s home.

She was born July 22, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Fred and Louise Tosch. She married Max Coats on September 22, 1959 in Port Huron. Max died April 24, 2003 in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Lois enjoyed bowling, boating, traveling and spending time with her husband. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the “Lois” Club, and the Red Hatters. Lois and Max retired in 1997 and moved to Cottonwood, Arizona where they enjoyed the sunshine and retired life until Max’s death. Lois returned to Port Huron to friends and family in 2006. She thoroughly enjoyed her luncheons with all of her “Lois” friends and her Red Hat group.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Sheila) Coats; daughters, Lisa (Joe) Bourassa and Lainie Slaght; grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Dylan (Karlee) Coats, Brooke and Dominic (Arianna) Bourassa; great granddaughter, Olivia Coats; brother-in-law, Tim Coats; sister-in-law, Nancy Tosch; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Tosch; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Patricia) Coats, Richard (Karen) Coats and Ella (Shirley) Curtis.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Huff will officiate.

A graveside service will immediately follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
