William W McDonald Jr.

William Wallace “Bill” McDonald Jr., 79, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

He was born February 25, 1944 in Yale to the late Nellie and William McDonald Sr. He married Debra E. Putze on June 16, 2006 in Port Huron.

Bill graduated from Yale High School in 1962. He was employed with United Technologies Corporation and retired after several years. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, being outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling and going up north every summer. In his younger years he liked to hunt and was on a bowling league. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Debra; children, Tammy (Lawrence) DeHate, Angie (Marty) Eagen, Barry (Alican) Zweng-Putze and Matthew Putze; grandchildren, Lawrence (Kayla) DeHate, Trevor DeHate, Carra Eagen, Natalie Eagen, Noah Walsh, Noah Putze, Ethan Putze and Kaylie Putze; great grandchild, Peyton DeHate; sister, Phyllis Fletcher; brothers, Gary (Shawn) McDonald and Doug McDonald; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
