Mary Jo Daly

September 13th, 1942 to November 26th, 2023

Mary Josephine Daly, 81, died Sunday, November 26, 2023, in her home in Port Huron, Michigan. She was born September 13, 1942, to Mary and Joseph Franczyk in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Mary Jo married Richard K. Daly on August 3, 1962. During their 16 years of marriage, they had four children, Diane, Richard, Renee, and Frances, with only a 3 1/2-year difference between the oldest and youngest. All Mary Jo ever wanted was to be a mother, and she lovingly fulfilled that role. She especially loved to rock and sing to her children. She also dearly loved her five grandchildren, Samantha, Brennan, Samuel, Sierra, and Connor, and spent many hours playing games with them.

Mary Jo was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 30, 1973. She attended congregations in Lapeer and Port Huron, Michigan, as well as Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and was known for faithfully attending meetings on Zoom for the last three years. She joyfully attended Pioneer School four times during her 28 years as a Pioneer. She loved telling others about the Bible's hope for the future, especially while going "door to door" and also with her letter writing.

She is survived by her children, Diane and Sam Cossick of Bobtown, Pennsylvania, Richard A. Daly of SeaTac, Washington, and Frances and Wendall Dobson of North Street, Michigan; her grandchildren, Samantha Cossick and husband Ryan Blackwell, Brennan and Olivia Bearden, Samuel Cossick, Sierra and Seth Ervin, and Connor Dobson; her brother, David Franczyk; her nephew, Joshua and her niece, Amanda and their families; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Christine Daly; and her sister-in-law, Polly Franczyk.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Port Huron.
