Kathleen Bernadette “Kathy” Schuck, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 17, 2024.
She was born on March 14, 1949 to the late Anthony and Irene Spanke. She married John O. Schuck on June 26, 1970 and they celebrated 45 years of marriage. John preceded her in death on November 12, 2015.
Kathy lived in or around the Port Huron/Detroit area for most of her life. She graduated from nursing school in 1970 and spent the early years of her nursing career in various parts of the country. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree Kathy started teaching nursing at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, MI. She took great pride in teaching and was admired by her students and colleagues alike.
Kathy is survived by her three children, Aaron (Jessica) Schuck, Meredith (Thomas) Middlin and Amanda Salmon; and grandchildren, Lucas and Veda Middlin, Nolan and Holden Salmon, and Anthony, Samuel “Sam” and Augustyn “Gus” Schuck.
Kathy’s favorite role was Grandmother. She treasured her time with each of her seven grandchildren and spending summers with them at her cottage in Caseville.
Beyond her family, Kathy’s life was enriched by her dear friends, Marianne Schock, Kathy Smith and Kathy Peace with whom she shared countless memories filled with joy and companionship.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed shopping and decorating her home with her vast collection of contemporary art. She loved dressing up and going out on the town with John. She also loved playing euchre with friends. Kathy was most known for her meticulously organized and spotless home.
The long and the short of it is that her kind spirit and quick wit will not be forgotten anytime soon.
Join the family for visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
