David William Collom, 89, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, January 21, 2024.
He was born January 20, 1935 in Detroit to the late Merton and Jeanette Collom. He married Sandra Hannenberg on June 12, 1983 in Howell. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2022 after 39 years of marriage.
David served in the U.S. Navy and then was employed as a mechanical engineer for many years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and could fix anything.
He is survived by his son, David (Tammy) Collom; two daughters, Marri Collom (Ted Tash) and Joy Peerear; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
