Gregory S Hisscock

Gregory Scott Hisscock, 59, of Greenwood Township, beloved husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at McLaren Hospital, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 18, 1964 in Port Huron to Robert and Sheila Hisscock. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Laura Tanton, on February 21, 1985 in Port Huron. They were about to celebrate their 39th anniversary in a couple of weeks.

Greg worked at the Chrysler Tech Center in Auburn Hills and was a member of UAW Local #412. He lived and breathed hunting and fishing. Greg was a true family man who loved spending time with his grandsons and special niece, Jenna, and attending all of their events. He was a loving and attentive husband, father and papa.

He was a proud member of the United States Coast Guard from 1984-1988. He was stationed in St. Louis, MO and Cape Cod, MA. He traveled to places like Guatemala and Honduras and loved the time he spent serving his country.

Greg is survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Nicole (Andy) Brockman; grandsons, Ryan and Corey Brockman; parents, Robert and Shelia Hisscock; siblings, Kelly (Tom) Porter and James (Rebecca) Hisscock; best friend, Brent (Tamie) Barber; brothers-in-law, Jeff Tanton, Jimbo (Katie) Tanton and Terry (Tamela) Tanton; sisters-in-law, Sue (Ron) Kildow, Diana (Carl) McCue, Rose (Jim) Ichenburg, Donna (Mike) Lapka and Nancy (Bruce) Buckley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends; and his dog, Bandit.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clark and Eileen Hisscock and Kenneth and Verta Rich; uncles, Len and Lyle Rich; parents-in-law, Thomas and Kathy Tanton; and sister-in-law, Carol Tanton.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 in Ross Bible Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Steven Scott will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Coast Guard and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
