Randy E Gersten

Randy Everett Gersten, 70, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, February 12, 2024.

He was born June 5, 1953 in Port Huron to the late Keith and Ernestine (Vincent) Gerstenschlager. He met his wife, Mary Gervais on a blind date through a mutual friend. They married on December 3, 1994 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Varney St. They later renewed their vows on May 27, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Randy graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 1972. He was employed with MNP Corporation in Utica until his retirement in 2015. In his later years, he worked at Home Depot and Gander Mountain. Randy enjoyed his time outdoors and in his garage. His hobbies included hunting with his beagles, fishing, woodworking, riding his motorcycle and spending quiet time with Mary and their various pets. He was a member of Wadhams Grove Community of Christ and St. Mary Catholic Church.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary, and their cat, Berea; sisters, Sherry (David) Hunt and Lori Gersten; sister-in-law, Annette (Garry) May; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many in-laws and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Elder David Giles will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township.
