Virginia E Whipple

Virginia Emily Whipple, 99, of Avon Lake, Ohio, died Saturday, March 30, 2024.

She was born December 28, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Elmer and Mary Caulkett.

Virginia was an avid bridge player, loved to travel and enjoyed attending dance club. She aspired to be a fashion designer and was an excellent seamstress. She had a passion for researching family genealogy and staying close with her family was very important to her. She was a longtime member of Port Huron Golf Club and she and her husband, Chuck, were members of Grace Episcopal Church.

She is survived by three children, Mary Melanie (Mark) Richardson, Melinda (Dennis) O’Toole and Daniel (Angel) Marx; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, David Marx and Charles Whipple; brother, Russell Caulkett; and sister, Phyllis Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in the chapel of Grace Episcopal Church. The Reverend Shadrack Ouwor will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve/Ames Family Center.
