Dorothy L "Dottie" Button

June 6th, 1943 to April 11th, 2024
Obituary

Dorothy Lee “Dottie” Button, 80, of Port Huron Township, died Thursday, April 11, 2024.

She was born June 6, 1943 in Midland to the late Frank E. and Dorothy L. Blue. She married Donald A. Button Sr. on May 18, 1963 in St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Dottie graduated from Marysville High School in 1961 and was proud of her role as a drum major in the band from 1959-1961. She started working at the River Crab Restaurant when she was just 16 years old, and this first job turned into a 35-year career after her children were born. Many regular customers will remember her smiling face and gregarious personality. Dottie enjoyed trips to Lakeland, Florida to watch the Detroit Tigers during spring training, trying her luck at any casino she could find, and shopping for designer handbags to add to her collection. Most of all, she loved being with her family and watching her grandchildren in their activities and sports.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald; children, Donald Jr. “Donnie” (Daisy) Button, Derek Button and Andrea (Will) Parker; grandchildren, Chad Cartmell (Sydney Sepsey), Nick Cartmell, Kristen (Allen) May, Rob (Molly) Parker and Tim Parker; sisters, Kathleen (Herb) Robbins, Betty (Joseph) Mericka, Susan Toles (Barry Tolley), Chris (Jim) Zalucha and Fran Blue (Michael Walsh); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Phil Whetstone will officiate.
