Jean Kelly

June 11th, 1943 to May 12th, 2024

JeanKaye Kelly, 80, of Clyde Township, died Sunday, May 12, 2024.

She was born June 11, 1943 in Port Huron to the late James and Jean McCulloch. She married John P. “Jack” Kelly on January 15, 1966 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Jean enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting, baking, camping and taking care of her house and yard. She especially loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Jean never met a stranger, making friends wherever she went.

Jean volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic Church, taking care of the altar and funeral luncheons and also volunteered at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission. She was a current member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack; children, Brian (Ann) Kelly, Mark (Rachel) Kelly and Jennifer (Joshua) Balaska; grandchildren, Jordan Kelly, Steven Kelly and Brett Balaska; brother, Donald (Liz) McCulloch; sisters-in-law, Ellen Kelly and Joanne Kozloff; close friends, Pat Riebrandt and Karen Clor; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, SueAnn Hayes.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
