Verna J "Jo-Jo" Daniel

Verna Joanne “Jo-Jo” Daniel, 85, of Port Huron, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

She was born at home in Oil Springs, Ontario, Canada on January 16, 1939 to the late Ralph and Beatrice Smith.

Jo-Jo enjoyed telling jokes and laughing with family and friends. Her laugh and sense of humor made her a favorite while working at Peter L’s, the Fogcutter and the Reef restaurant.

She is survived by her two sons, Troy B. Daniel, of Higgins Lake, and Jeff J. Daniel, of Port Huron; and nieces and nephews, who considered her to be their favorite aunt. Everyone loved her laugh and her fun-loving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her four siblings, Melvin Smith, Bernice Marriott, Clinton Smith, and Maxine Smith.

No services will be held. The family will have a memorial event to celebrate her life at a later date.
