Mary Margaret “Marbie” Rumptz, 82, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024, surrounded by her children.
She was born August 28, 1941 in Port Huron to the late John and Eleanor Schwikert.
Mary graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1959. She was employed with Michigan National Bank and J.C. Penney. Mary was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the League of Catholic Women. Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Rob (Liz) Rumptz, Laura (Mike) Patton, Steve Rumptz (Jennifer Hollenbeck) and Karen (Eric) Schott; grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Everett, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Conner, Gracelyn, Kara, Brooklyn and Kyle; brother-in-law, John Braun; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah E. Braun.
Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
