Phyllis A Hagerman

Phyllis Ann Hagerman, 83, of Fort Gratiot, died Friday, October 4, 2024 after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy (psp.org).

She was born November 2, 1940 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Gertrude Decker.

Phyllis graduated from Dominican High School in Detroit in 1959. She was employed in the banking industry for many years and retired as Branch Manager of Michigan National Bank. Phyllis enjoyed crafting and sewing in her later years and taking part in craft shows.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Steve) Hoenie, Holly (Tom) Hagerman-Price and Kelly (Michael) Barkume; grandchildren, Tiffany Stano, Jonathan (Lyndsey) Stano, Madeline (Robert) Romzek, Brendan (Ansley) Barkume, Paige (Erik) Lasky and Bridget Barkume; six great grandchildren; sister, Donna (Ronald) Schalk; brother, Arthur (Joanne) Decker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Decker Jr; and the father of her children, Gerald Hagerman.

Phyllis will lie in state on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12311 19 Mile Rd., Sterling Heights.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home.
