John F Diaz Sr.

John Frank Diaz Sr., 84, of Port Huron, died Sunday, October 27, 2024.

He was born November 2, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Juan and Manuela Diaz. He married Nancy Hall in 1962 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2023 after 60 years of marriage.

John was a 1957 graduate of Port Huron High School. He was employed at Mueller Brass for over 20 years and then for several years with Labor Union #463. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan, following the U of M and the Detroit Tigers and Lions teams. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by six children, Debra (Mark) Alexander, Dawn Diaz (Roger Hadrich), Denise Diaz (Chad Albrecht), John (Jackie) Diaz Jr., Doreen Melvin and Nicole Diaz (James LaVere); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Velez and Peri Diaz; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Debra) Hall and Andrew Hall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene Diaz; three brothers, Angelo, Lupe and Jesse Sr.; and four sisters, Juanita, Esther, Ruth and Theresa.

A memorial event to celebrate John’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024 in Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2645 Howard St., Port Huron.
