John D Kelly

October 17th, 1926 to April 5th, 2012
Ft. Gratiot--Jack (J.D.) Kelly passed away after a lengthy illness on April 5, 2012.

He was the son of the late T. M. and Margaret (O'Brien) Kelly, formerly of R.R. Sebringville, ON.

He retired as a conductor from the Grand Trunk Railroad after 42 years of service. He also served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Jack was a member of the U.S.T.A. and MHHA, the American Legion, VFW of Avon Park, FL and St. Mary's Parish of Port Huron.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna T. of Ft. Gratiot; step-children, Curtis (Denise) Cotterill, Judy (John) Pepers; grandchildren, Rachel Cotterill and Todd Cotterill; great-grandchildren Brady and Tyson all of London, ON.; sister, Agnes Gaffney of Mitchell, ON; sisters-in-law, Mary Kelly of Stratford, ON., Marion Kelly of Sebringville, ON; many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Jack is preceded in death by a step-son, Wayne Cotterill; brothers, Tom and Bill Kelly; sisters, Sr. Florence Kelly, Kathleen (Tim) McDonnell, Mary (Joe) Williams, Josephine (Reg) Westnutt, Margaret (Jim) Wingham and Theresa (Leon) Gaffney; brothers-in-law, Charles Gaffney, Tom, Jim and Jack Feeney.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held 10 am Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Zbiginew Zomerfeld will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military Honors will be under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 am Tuesday in the church. A Rosary will take place 7pm Monday in the funeral home.

Memorials for Jack may be made to St. Mary's Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
