It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Wiczorek announce her passing.

Karen Lynn Wiczorek (Anglebrandt), 68, of Lakeport, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 with her loving husband by her side.

She was born May 30, 1956 in Newport, Rhode Island to the late Morris “Red” and Mary Ellen Anglebrandt. She married Kenneth Wiczorek on July 29, 1978 in Port Huron.

Karen had a love for life and demonstrated that by her kindness and caring for all the people she knew including her family, neighbors and co-workers. She was always looking out for everybody and would always put others needs before her own. Karen loved being outdoors, walking the shoreline of Lake Huron searching for beach glass, which she had many treasured pieces in her collections over many years. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores, playing the lottery and bingo, going up north and camping.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Kelly (Max) Cook; grandchildren, Addisyn, Haydyn, Emma and Rylan; faithful companion, Bayley; mother, Mary Ellen Anglebrandt; sisters, Denise (Rod) Weitzel and Kathy (Jeff) Pierce; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Shirley Wiczorek (Lary Scott).

A memorial event to celebrate her life will be held next year on her birthday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
