Mary Eloise Suarez
Mary Eloise Suarez, 85, of Port Huron passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, December 13, 2024.
She was the first-born child to the late Pearl C. (Duenaz) and Andrés Suarez on August 23, 1939.
Mary had always been a giving soul that would put others before herself. After high school, she joined the United States Air Force where she proudly served her country. Upon her return, she purchased a home for her mother where she cared for her until her passing in 1993. She worked for the Michigan Department of Agriculture for many years as a farm surveyor until her retirement in 1996. With her meticulous skills in keeping records, she performed her job at the highest level.
Another passion for Mary was serving the church. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, part of the Mexican council, and helped with the Mexican dinners, fish fries, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, and luncheons. She was a devout member of Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. She had many friends, and enjoyed going to lunch after Saturday Mass with the women from the St. Anne’s Society. Above all, she loved her family deeply. She lived her life, wanting her siblings to be cared for and safe. She was the protector, rock, and matriarch.
Her memory will be carried on and honored in the hearts and thoughts of all those who loved her including her siblings, Andrew (Darlene) Suarez of Ramona California, Conchita “Connie” Rosas of Davidson, Anita Suarez of Port Huron, and Gregory “Joe” Suarez of Muskegon; nieces and nephews, Laura (Ray) Suarez-Belinky, Shannon (Dan) Withrow-Blackmore, Jill (Ryan) Robinson, Danielle Withrow, Christopher Rosas, Michael Rosas, Cicily Suarez, Amanda (Clarence) Wendell, Timothy Smith, Justin (Nikki) Suarez; great nieces and nephews, Hayden, Addison, Heaven, Alexis, Nina, Makayla, Avery, and Lyriq; her God-son and great nephew, Alexzander; brother-in-law, Merle Withrow and many Duenaz cousins and life-long friends. She now joins her parents; her brother, John Suarez; her sister, Adelia “Della” Withrow; her niece, Kimberly Ann Sterling; her nephew, Todd Suarez; and brothers-in-law, Ishmael “Imo” Rosas and Robert Sterling who all surely met her in heaven joyously with open arms.
