Thomas J "Tom" Smith

Thomas J. “Tom” Smith, 59, of Port Huron passed away Friday, December 13, 2024.

He was born May 4, 1965 in Port Huron to Joseph O. and Judith C. Smith.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Port Huron, graduating from Port Huron Northern in 1983. He was a master electrician having done work with Northern Electric, Ainsworth Electric, IBEW Local 58, St. Clair County, and B&T Electric. Tom not only excelled in his career but also brought joy and laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He surrounded himself with friends who shared funny sayings, a love for classic cars, and many great memories at the local Dragway.

Although Tom has left this world too soon, he will always be remembered by his friends and family as a kind and loving individual who had an immense enthusiasm for life. “Tom’s OK?”

Tom is survived by his three children, Thomas J Smith II, Spencer C. (Branden) Kerr, and Madison M. (Christopher) Fisher; parents, Joseph and Judith Smith; loving brother, Stephen (Jodi) Smith; two sisters, Sarah (David) Thornton, and Mary (Charles) White; former wife and mother of his children, Wendy C. Manter; beloved friend, Lynne Labbe and her family; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
