Albert J "Bud" Wessel Jr.

Albert Joseph “Bud” Wessel Jr., 91, of St. Clair Township, died Sunday, January 19, 2025.

He was born March 3, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Beatrice and Albert Wessel Sr. He married Rosemarie Snover on December 3, 1955 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2019.

Bud graduated from Port Huron High School in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as a machine gunner from 1953 to 1955. Following his military service, he was employed with Port Huron Paper for 38 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, loved spending time by the lake and could do anything he put his mind to.

He is survived by his son, Scott (JoAnne) Wessel; daughter, Kelly (Brian) Dowell; grandchildren, Tyler and Travis Wessel; and brothers-in-law, Tom and Jim Snover. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Wessel; and sisters, Virginia Hearn, Evelyn Stalker and Gloria Brown.

Family inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron at a later date.
