Julie A Christofferson
Julie A. Christofferson, 75, of Port Huron, died on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Oxford.
She was born August 28, 1949, in Port Huron to the late Robert and Audrey Carolan. She graduated from Port Huron Catholic High School in 1967.
Julie married David Christofferson on January 29, 1972. After 47 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on July 29, 2019.
She worked as a paraprofessional in the Port Huron Area School District for 23 years before her retirement in 2012. In addition, she served as the local treasurer for the Michigan Education Association for 19 years.
Julie found immense joy from time spent with her family; she was happiest surrounded by her sons, daughters-in-law, and her six grandchildren. She enjoyed long walks along the water, gardening, reading, and catching up with her vast friendship network. She loved laughing with her family, and hosting pizza parties for any and every occasion. She was always ready to lend a listening ear and pull up her sleeves to help anyone in need. Julie had an incredibly giving spirit and volunteered many hours to causes near and dear to her heart.
In retirement she served as an election worker and volunteered at St. Mary Catholic Community’s Altar Society and Funeral Luncheon Ministry.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Kerri) Christofferson, Andrew (Maria Diez Leon) Christofferson, Keith (Brooke) Christofferson; grandchildren, Ethan, Nolan, Claire, Owen, Colin, and Connor; siblings, Bobbie (Bob) Yuvan, Joan (Jim) Smith, Jody (Vickie) Carolan, Mark (Jeff) Carolan; three sisters-in-law, Gay (Mark) Tackaberry, Jean Carolan and Sue Carolan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel, and Paul Carolan.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Community with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
