Ronnie Floyd Locke

Ronnie Floyd Locke, 82, of Lakeport died Sunday, February 9, 2025.

He was born February 2, 1943 in Fort Gratiot to the late Floyd and Almeda Locke. He married Linda L. Hautau on September 11, 1965 in Outer Drive Faith Lutheran Church, Detroit.

Ron was a graduate of Cros-Lex High School. He furthered his education at St. Clair County Community College and Eastern Michigan School of Business. Ron also completed a tool-and-die apprenticeship with Mueller Brass and went on to work as a tool and die maker for General Motors from 1968 to 2000,

Ron dedicated 37 years of service to the Burtchville Fire Department, holding various positions, including Fire Chief. He was also an active member of the Wednesday Night Dance Club for 20 years. A Hero and an inspiration.

He is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Linda; two daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Oldford and Ann (Steven) Freeman; seven grandchildren, Kendall (Conor) Locke, Natasha Oldford, Luke (Emma) Oldford, Alex Bartos, Cody Bartos, Chris Freeman and Brooke Freeman; two sisters-in-law, Diana Hautau and Flora Hautau; numerous cousins; and many additional family and friends.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Faith Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Huff will officiate.

Burial will be in Burtchville Cemetery.
