Vern R. Grambow

October 30th, 1931 to August 11th, 2025

Vern Roland Grambow, 93, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 11, 2025.

He was born October 30, 1931 in Fraser to the late Elmer and Helen Grambow. He married Judith L. Wood on April 21, 1956 in Richmond.

Vern served in the U.S. Army. He worked at the St. Clair Rubber Company and most recently was employed at the Times Herald for 15 years as the Building Supervisor. Farming was a part of his life from a young age and remained close to his heart. An avid gardener, he was awarded the Beautification Certificate from the Times Herald for two consecutive years. He loved fishing and hunting and was a member of V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796. Vern traveled throughout all 50 U.S. States and in retirement, they enjoyed travelling to Europe and taking several cruises.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Judith; three daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Howard, Brenda (Jeff) Arnold and Kimberly (Rick) Wittner; two grandchildren, Treasure (Chris) Lacy and Mitchelblake (Jessica) Sly; six great grandchildren, Collin, Aidan, Bryce, Brooklyn, Sawyer and Ryder; and two brothers, Butch (LuAnn) Grambow and Wayne (Vicki) Grambow. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Faith Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Gerhardt Doroh will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
