Eugene C Galinis
Eugene C. Galinis, 93, of Jeddo, died Friday, August 15, 2025.
He was born February 7, 1932 in Detroit to the late Charles and Marie Galinis. He married Judith “Judy” Eckenswiller on October 6, 1995 in Sand Point.
Eugene was a graduate of Mackenzie High School in Detroit and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Corporal. He was employed with Ford Motor Company for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church and the Croswell American Legion. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judith; four children, Debbie (Patrick) Daniels, Denise (Louis) Tiso, Jerry (Laura) Galinis and Donna (Doug) Nelson; two stepdaughters, Christine (Donald) Meddaugh and Michelle (Dale) Farr; thirteen grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Christine Walkowe; and brother, Norbert Galinis. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Galinis; and step-grandson, Corey Farr.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.
Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Pallbearers will be Eugene’s family. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
