Deborah J Szelog

Deborah Jean Szelog, 66, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

She was born May 28, 1959 in Port Huron to the late Frederick and Anna Gaffney.

Deborah was a 1977 graduate of Marysville High School. She was employed at Physician Health Care Network for 19 years. One of her greatest joys was being a grandma.

She is survived by her son, Dave (Melissa) Szelog; daughter, Kelly (Sean) Brickner; four grandchildren, Hannah and Breslynn Szelog and Olivia and Ryan Brickner; five sisters, Mary LaVere, Shirley (Tim) Houle, Trish (David) Speilburg, Linda Lovins, Tresa Armstrong; three brothers, Mike (Barb) Gaffney, Dave (Barb) Gaffney and Leo (Lori) Gaffney; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frederick Gaffney; and sister, Maggie Johnson.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday August 22, 2025 in Holy Family Parish, Memphis with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Reverend Anthony Camilleri will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home.
