Judith A Riddell
Judith Ann Riddell, 85, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
She was born February 22, 1940 in Detroit to the late Henry and Beatrice Papineau. She married Gerald T. Riddell on August 2, 1958 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2014.
Judy worked as a cook supervisor with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department. She was hired by Sheriff Dave Doktor for what was originally two weeks, but turned into a 25 year career. She loved playing BINGO, visiting casinos, enjoyed games, and was also musically talented, playing both the accordion and piano. Judy also dedicated her time volunteering yearly with the Michigan Law Enforcement Youth Training Academy. Above all else, family was everything to Judy. Her greatest joy was being a devoted mother and grandmother, not only to her children and grandchildren, but to many others who also called her mom.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Tom) Carr, Lori (Mike) Johnson, Gerald (Sheila) Riddell Jr., Scott (Angie) Riddell, Shari (Curt) Haddix, and Paul (Cissy) Riddell; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patti Berry.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Joseph Baunoch will officiate.
