Francine Z "Fran" Warsalla

February 17th, 1933 to October 31st, 2025

Francine Zelma “Fran” Warsalla, 92, passed away peacefully Friday, October 31, 2025.

She was born February 17, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Earl and Dorothy Minor. She married Franklin G. Warsalla on October 4, 1952 in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Port Huron. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2010 after 57 years of marriage.

Fran was raised in Port Huron and graduated from Port Huron High School. She became Catholic in 1951 and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was Director of Religious Education for 13 years and a member of the St. Joseph Chorale for over 50 years.

She joined the Girls Scouts of America Michigan Waterways Council as a young scout and continued to serve as a leader for 11 years. Fran was a part of the Port Huron Child Study Club #3 for 10 years and volunteered with the Red Cross in the business office and disaster service for 13 years. She had a passion for recording family history, creating genealogy books for each of her own family members and joining the SCC Genealogy and Family History Group.

She is survived by her children, Franklin G.” George” Warsalla Jr., Beth A. Harvill, and Kelly (Ric) Wells; 20 grandchildren; over 30 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Ellen Innis. She was preceded in death by her children, Patrick L. Warsalla, Christopher S. Warsalla, Larry A. Warsalla, and Mary Loxton; and her brother, Walter Minor.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Fran will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery. Fran’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
