James R Shockley
James R. Shockley, 76, of Westland, Michigan and Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
He was born November 23, 1948 to the late James F. and Eunice C. Shockley. Jim was a proud patriot and veteran of the U.S. Army.
Upon conclusion of his service, Jim had a long career in the auto industry in the Detroit area. In retirement, he became a “snowbird,” spending his winters in Sebring, Florida before moving there full-time in 2017 where he furthered his passions for golf, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. You could find Jim on every fall Saturday cheering on U of M Football.
He is survived by his son, Tim (Stacy) Shockley; grandchildren, Brittany Pawlowski and Andrew Shockley; great grandson, Reece Brown; and brother, David (Marie) Shockley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Wilson Shockley on July 19, 2021.
Jim will be dearly missed by his friends and family. His greatest role was being “Pa” to his grandkids. He showed unconditional love to his family and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. We will deeply miss hearing his “Go Blue!” on Saturday mornings.
A memorial service in his honor will be held in the Spring of 2026.
