James C Ball

James Calvin Ball, 78, of Port Huron, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026.

He was born November 13, 1947 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Arville and Dellie Ball. He married Patsy J. Jones on July 6, 1968 in Jellico, Tennessee.

James was employed with Ford Motor Co. for 31 years and retired in 1999. Following his retirement, he moved to Kentucky where he drove a school and tour bus, traveling around the U.S. James enjoyed golfing, farming and hunting on Severn Creek Farm in Owenton, Kentucky. Upon returning back to Michigan, he made trips back to Kentucky every June and November to help mow the fields and do some hunting. He was a supportive dad, papaw and old papaw, and enjoyed watching his great grandchildren play sports. James will be remembered for his great sense of humor and wit, but most of all his strong Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy; daughter, Kimberly (Paul) Brewer; son, Jimmy (Julie) Ball; grandchildren, Ashlyne (Anthony) Ingle, Jared Loyd, Jacobi Brewer and Brooklyn Brewer; two great grandchildren, Colton and Hudson Ingle; siblings, Louise Tharpe, Aileen Barnard, Robert (Pat) Ball and Shirley (Rhonnie) Hutson; brother-in-law, Dave (Karen) Jones; sister-in-law, Gail Trammell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Willard, Raymond, Edna and Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Dennis Holland will officiate.
