Jean Ritz

Margaret Jean Ritz, 84, of Port Huron, died Monday, February 16, 2026.

She was born June 27, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Allen and Elsie Karl. She married Robert A. Ritz on November 26, 1960 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2019.

Jean was employed as a food service manager with the Port Huron Area School District for many years prior to her retirement. She also served on the Port Huron Township Recreation Board for 50 years. Jean enjoyed golfing, traveling, going to casinos, working in her yard, growing roses and wintering in Florida. She was a member of the Port Huron Elks Lodge 343, Port Huron Yacht Club, Amvets Post 110, and a former longtime member of Willow Ridge Golf Course.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Howard) Malloy; son, Chris (Vallery) Ritz; granddaughter, Haley (Matthew) Baril; sister, Joanne (Jim) Adair; brother, William Karl; and sister-in-law, Joyce Ritz. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, James and Richard Karl.

Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
