Nancy K Curtis

Nancy K. (Young) Curtis, 75, of Fort Gratiot, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026 with her family by her side.

She met her best friend and husband Wayne while in high school and they married April 11, 1970 while Wayne was serving in the United States Air Force. Theirs was a love story of an amazing 56 years. Together they had two daughters, Christy (Thomas) Sarrine and Kelly Curtis.

As a young military wife and mother, Nancy became strong, resilient and faced any challenge with an “accept it then get over it” mentality. Always being the gravitational force of her family, she would remind her family “if we have each other, and snacks, we will be ok”.

Nancy and Wayne enjoyed time up at their cabin in Lewiston and most recently their winter home in Florida where they met wonderful new friends. Nancy was also very proud of her grandchildren; Nathaniel Curtis (Brianna Gusmano) and Hanna Sarrine. She loved attending to her puppies and working in her beautiful backyard.

She was preceded in death by many friends and family members who will greet her in everlasting life.

A private memorial tree planting will be held by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Clair County.
