Candace L Sionkowski

Candace Lee Sionkowski, 71, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, April 16, 2026.

She was born December 22, 1954 in Dearborn to the late Edward and Margaret Koval.

Candace was deeply involved in her faith community, actively participating in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Council of Lutheran Women. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Port Huron and former member of Guardian Lutheran Church in Dearborn. She loved gardening, quilting and traveling with her family. She also had a special affection her grand dog, Gunner.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracie (Tim) Middleton; sisters, Patti (Ron) Tobkin and Michelle (Brian) Covey; nieces and nephews, Matt (Jill), Ryan and Adam Tobkin, Jessica and Edward Covey (Leroy Ruben-Schmitz), Dominique (George) Fountas, Andrew (Jessica) and Kelly Koval. She was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Koval.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dan Ramthun of Guardian Lutheran Church will officiate.
