Barbara L. Humes, age 78, of Port Huron died Saturday, June 9, 2012.
She was born September 14, 1933 in Huntington, West Virginia.
Barbara married Robert L. Humes on April 28, 1958 in Detroit.
Barbara was born in West Virginia and moved with her parents to the Detroit area where she lived most of her life. She was employed with Chrysler Corporation for over 15 years and then decided to stay at home and take care of her family. She also volunteered at Mercy Hospital in Grayling.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert L. Humes of Port Huron; son, Daniel B. (Kimberly) Humes of Kingston; granddaughters, Amanda Humes of Omaha, NE and Jamie Humes of Macomb.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey C. Humes; parents, Daniel and Lucille Tassen and brothers, Jack, Daniel “Scott” and David Tassen.
Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Phil Whetstone of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate.
Visiting hours are 2-9 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
Memorials in memory of Barbara may be given to Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
