Dwayne E Rich

May 20, 1964 to May 02, 2026

Dwayne Edward Rich, 61, of Port Huron, died Saturday, May 2, 2026.

He was born May 20, 1964 in Newport, Rhode Island to the late Douglas and Catherine Rich. He married Margaret “Maggie” Peter-Hiller on September 19, 2018 in Las Vegas.

Dwayne worked at the Chrysler Sterling Heights Assembly Plant for 13 years. He was known for his athleticism and often shared stories of his time as a varsity wrestler during his freshman year of high school, where he competed alongside his two older brothers.

Dwayne stayed strong, never complained or showed self-pity, and powered through some pretty rough times. He enjoyed bowling, camping, boating and trips to Las Vegas and casinos. An avid Detroit sports fan, he closely followed the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings. He also took great pride in his home and his lawn looked like it belonged to a professional landscaper. Above all, he had a heart of gold and deeply loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie; five children, Cortney (Dustin) Hildebrand, Dwayne (Jessica) Rich Jr., Amber (Josh) McCarty, Mehgan (Saulo) Hiller, and Eric (Kelsey) Hiller; 15 grandchildren, Derek, Kyson, Axle, Brooklynn, Noah, Savannah, Selena, Vivian, Ethan, Nathan, Morgan, Griffin, Knoxleigh, Annalyse and Addison; three siblings, Don Rich, Cherie (Dennis) Green and Crystal Rich; seven nieces and nephews, Bobby, Devin, Amber, Derek, Nena, Justin and Jenelle; two sisters-in-law, Geri (Richard) Rhody and Jackie (Curtis) Karl; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Rich; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Juanita Peter.

His family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday June 28, 2026, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2645 Howard Street, Port Huron.
