SSG Micah F. Hall, USA, Retired, 48, of Fort Gratiot, passed quietly in his sleep on Monday, May 4, 2026, at his home. He was born October 1, 1977 in Port Huron. He married Alyssa Porada on July 19, 2025, in Frankenmuth.

Micah was a 20-year U.S. Army veteran who served tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo and was stationed at numerous military posts across the United States. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, along with many other commendations for his service.

After retiring from the Army, Micah worked as a building substitute teacher, which inspired him to return to school to pursue a career in education. He had recently earned his associate degree from Columbia College. An avid outdoorsman, Micah enjoyed hunting, fishing, and birding, often passing these interests on to those closest to him. He also served as a shooting coach for the Rimrock Acres 4-H Club, where he mentored his sons and other youth in shooting sports. In addition, Micah was an active member of the Queen’s Rangers, a living history reenactment unit that allowed him to share his passion for history.

He is survived by his wife, Alyssa Hall; son, Jesse Hall; stepsons, Nathaniel and Elijah Dauphinais; his mother, Marion Forrest; brother, Christian (Caroline) Hall; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Zygmunt and Maureen Porada Jr.; sisters-in-law, Sara (Timothy) O’Brien and Meghann (Roger) Porada; and brother-in-law, Zygmunt (Maria) Porada III; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon. The Reverend Shadrack Owuor will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
