A. Wali Babrak
Abdul Wali Babrak, 82, of Port Huron, died Saturday, May 23, 2026.
He was born September 10, 1943 in Kandahar, Afghanistan to the late Abdul and Sultana Rahimi.
Wali grew up in Kandahar and served in the Afghan Army for two years. He later earned a scholarship to attend the University of Arizona, where he met and married his wife, Mary. After living in Afghanistan for a few years, they eventually settled in Michigan.
Wali was extremely active and dedicated to Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved his children and especially cherished his grandchildren.
He is survived by three children, Wali Scott Babrak, Maleesha (Tim) MacRury and David Babrak; three grandchildren, Michayla, Jazmine and Brennan; great grandson, Lorenzo; two siblings; and his former daughter-in-law, Cristal Babrak and her children, Alejandro, Thalia and Emilio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Simons; and life-partner, Lucille Lasky.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home followed by a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. Judith Green will officiate
