Margaret Bachmann

Margaret Louise “Marge” Bachmann, 78, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, August 20, 2026.

She was born December 10, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Ernest and Elizabeth Thorn. She married Johannes “John” Bachmann on January 7, 1966 in Port Huron First Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2017 after 51 years of marriage.

Marge enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gambling, shopping, going on outings with her friends and cheering on her Detroit Tigers. She also coached Little League and served as a Cub Scout Pack Leader. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, John Bachmann and Scott (Elizabeth) Bachmann; grandchildren, Nicole Bachmann (fiancé Steven Light) and Brent (Aubrey) Bachmann; and in-laws, Ann and Bill Kompf.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Doug Studaker will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township.
