Larry M Jackson

Larry M. Jackson, 69, of Port Huron, passed away on August 26, 2026, from his fourteen-year fight with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (Leukemia). He was comforted by the love of his family even in his toughest hours. Larry was born on January 20, 1957, in Port Huron, to the late Charles and Betty Jackson. He graduated from Port Huron Central High School in 1975. After high school, Larry served his country for six years in the U.S. Navy. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Jean (Sweeney) at St. Stephen’s Church on April 22, 1978.

Larry was a computer analyst for PauMac Tubing, and had a long career in program coding. He had an analytical brain that loved numbers and solving problems. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephens, serving as an usher and adult religious education instructor.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jean, his daughters Eve (Tonilyn) and Shannon Jackson, granddaughters Lillian and Violet Hilliker, and brothers Paul and Bruce (Bobbie). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Teresa Sweeney, Joanna Durnbaugh (Jack), and his brothers-in-law William (Kelly), Matthew (Laura) Sweeney and Mike Clem, Sr., several nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Charles and Betty Jackson, William and Mary Ellen Sweeney and a sister-in-law, Barb Sweeney-Clem.

Larry was loved by all. He was calm and patient and always ready to help anyone. He was an avid reader and loved Michigan Football, puzzles, helping his granddaughters with homework, bowling, creating Excel sheets, vanilla ice cream, and traveling around the world with Mary Jean. He enjoyed being active and ran three marathons in his lifetime. It’s how he loved that truly set him apart. Larry was the best man, husband, father and grandfather anyone could ever have. His light was so bright that there is no doubt that he will continue to shine and guide, as he always has through life. He fought this illness through three bone marrow transplants; Larry is finally at peace in heaven. Those who were blessed to have known him will continue to miss him and the love that he brought to our lives.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity/St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will be officiating, assisted by Deacon Dennis Crimmins.

Memorial Donations may be offered to the Wishes of the Family. Inurnment will be in Kenockee Cemetery, Emmett, Michigan.
