Doreen A Flynn

Doreen Ann Flynn, 88, of Fort Gratiot, died, October 29, 2026.

She was born February 24, 1938 in Birkenhead, England to the late Fredrick and Emily Maguire. She married Lawrence Flynn on September 19, 1959 in Birkenhead, England. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1987.

Doreen was employed at Head Start as a teacher’s aide for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden, and making crafts. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Gillian Flynn (Peter Butrite) and Alison Flynn (Mark Fleming); son-in-law, James Godwin; grandchildren, Patrick (Andrea) Godwin, Abigail (Cody) Ramsey, Genna (Trevor) Dickman, Madeline (Jack) Neale, and Ryan McIntyre; and four great grandchildren. Doreen was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Godwin; and brothers, Allen and Geofrey Maguire.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Roxie Davis will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
