David J. Wawrzyniak, 83, died September 3, 2012 in Clinton Twp.
He was born October 6, 1928 in Detroit and moved to Avoca in the mid 1940’s. He married Nora P. Heberling on October 8, 1960 in Sacred Heart Church in Yale.
David was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and 3rd Knight of Knights of Columbus, Fr. William F. Welch Council, No. 11756. He was a tool and die maker by trade. He was employed at Prestolite for 20 years and retired from St. Clair Metal. He also owned and operated Wawrzyniak’s Orchard from the mid 1950’s through the 1970’s.
He is survived by his wife, Nora P. Wawrzyniak of Avoca; sons, David (Debra) Wawrzyniak of Southfield and Robert (Wendy) Wawrzyniak of Columbus, OH; daughter, Theresa Wawrzyniak of Avoca; grandchildren, Kelly, Julie (Amir), Emily, Olivia, Samuel, Hailey, Raymond, Leann and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Hudson.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 15, 2012 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visiting beginning at 9 am. The Rev. Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorials for David may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the St. Mary’s Choir.
