- Mildred “Jo” Strunk, 94, of Ft. Gratiot, formerly of Roseville, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in Regency on the Lake.
She was born January 25, 1918 in Windber, PA. She married Harry Glenn Strunk on August 17, 1935 in Cumberland MD. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1994.
Jo retired from Frank’s Nursery in Eastpointe after 25 years of employment. She had previously owned and operated her own restaurant and worked at several others. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (William) Blomme of Lakeport; granddaughters, Debra Clarey of Rochester, Kay Blomme of St. Petersburg, FL and Pamela Anderson of Sedona, AZ; great grandchildren, Shaina, Sean and Brett Clarey; brother, Rodney (Janet) Geisel of PA; sisters, Addie Campbell and Lydia (Dick) Schaefer, both of PA and her brother Dennis Geisel of NY.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Barry Sheldon of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lexington will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeport Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
