Mary Grace

Mary (Keough) Grace, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
She was born on January 11, 1932 in Emmett, Michigan, to the late Frank and Alice (nee Foley) Keough. She was married to Joseph Peter Grace for 54 years. He preceded her in death.
Mary was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Emmett and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Stephens High School in Port Huron and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Marygrove College in 1954. Early in her marriage, Mary taught elementary school and later taught catechism for many years. She enjoyed reading, film musicals and everything Irish. Mary’s greatest joy was being a wonderful mother and grandmother and she was renowned for her delicious sour cream cookies.
She is survived by eight children, Mary Alice of Emmett, Ellen (Will) Trepanier of Rocky River OH, Joseph Jr. (Joanne) of Bay Village, OH, Theresa of Chicago, Kathleen of Macomb Township, Michael (Jo-El) of Macomb Township, Roseanne Corrigan of Rocky River, OH and John of Emmett; eight grandchildren, Kristen, Joey, Megan, Michael, Jack, Noah and Sam Grace and Mary Kate Trepanier, her brother-in-law, Garry Donnellon and many nieces and nephews.
Mary also was preceded in death by her sister, Ann, her brothers-in-law Pat and Peter; her sister-in-law, Mary; and her son-in-law, Edward Corrigan.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Emmett. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-9 pm. Thursday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 12 p.m. until the time of the Mass Friday at the church. A Rosary will be recited 7 pm. Thursday at the funeral home.
