Janice R Messmer

Janice R. Messmer-Crumpley (Kramp), 66, of Port Huron died at 8:14 pm Friday, September 28, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak from injuries sustained following a tragic car accident earlier in the afternoon in Port Huron.

She was born in St. Petersburg, FL on March 18, 1946 and moved to Port Huron as a young girl. She retired from the U.S. Post Office in Port Huron and spent her retirement traveling around Michigan helping improve communities by planting gardens with the Master Gardner Society.

Janice is survived by her two sons, Kevin and Kristopher Crumpley; daughter-in-law Kazumi Crumpley; grandchildren, Jarod, Kira, Bethany, Kaylee and Sara; sister, Donna (Larry) Williams; brother, Richard (Rosemary) Kramp; brother, Steven (KC) Kramp; sister, Bethany (Don) Gaffke; brother, Gregory (Mary) Kramp; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend Sharlene Aalto.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Leo Kramp and mother, Ruth Whitelock.

Mass of Resurrection will be held 10 am Friday, October 5, 2012 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Huron. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9am until the time of service Friday in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm preceding the evening visitation.

Memorials will be accepted and made payable to the family in order to build a memorial garden in her honor so that all may share in her love of gardening.
