Jacqueline J Burke

June 7th, 1933 to December 15th, 2012
Jacqueline Jane Burke passed away peacefully on December 15, 2012 in Beaumont Hospital after a fall in her home December 11, two years to the day of the passing of her husband, Colman J. Burke, M.D. whom she missed dearly.

Together they enjoyed the culinary arts. Her vast collection of cook-books inspired traveling throughout the mid-west to quaint country inns sampling their local cuisine and sharing their love of fine dining. After a long winter, Jackie was always anxious for spring, eager to turn the warm earth into a rainbow of color in her beautiful yard which she nurtured through the summers and into the fall, her favorite season. Her passion for china painting spanned more than forty years. To many of us, her talented works of art will remain priceless treasures.

Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Cornette; son, William Eugene Wolfe; brothers, Lester A. “Bud” (Barbara) Gray, Robert E. (Susan) Gray, Phillip A. Gray, Charles F. (Suzanne) Gray; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.

Cremation arrangements by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
