Stanley Max Bayes, 83, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 28, 1929 in Imlay City, MI.
Stanley “Max” served in the U. S. Army, 82nd Airborne from 1947-1950. He worked for Sears and Roebuck for 13 years, as a credit manager. He later worked for New York Carpet World, then Independent Floor Covering, as well as for Bens Furniture.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie M. Bayes; children, Barbara (Michael) White, Jack (Kerry) Bayes, James (Kim) Bayes, William (Leann) Bayes and Lisa (Edward) Bayes-Warren; step-daughters, Marjorie (Daniel) McLean, Peggy (John) Picklehaupt, Donna (David) Maxwell and Marilyn (Randy) Wargnier; 13 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Stanley Max was preceded in death by his first wife Clara Burke Bayes; his son Terry Bayes and his brother Jack Bayes.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday February 8th 2013 at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Gagnon will officiate. Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. Friday February 8th, until the service time at 7p.m.
The family wishes for memorials to be given to the Disabled American Veterans
