Charles W. Sweet, 70, of Kimball, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Mercy Hospital.
He was born November 6, 1942 in Port Huron, son of the late Elmer and Blanche (Lashbrook) Sweet. He married Mary M. McIntyre on January 17, 1963 in Port Huron.
Charles owned and operated Sweet’s Sunoco and C & L Asphalt Company. He served in the National Guard. He enjoyed racing cars, motorcycles, hunting and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M Sweet.; and children, Charles (Deanna) Sweet of Kimball, Katherine (Donald) Struthers of Kimball, William (Christina) Sweet of Caro, MI, Lloyd (Rebecca) Sweet of Kimball, and Floyd Sweet of Kimball; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home on Monday March 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.
Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church.
