Mary Joyce Ziegler, 75, of Yale, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville following an extended illness.
She was born December 12, 1937 in Detroit daughter of the late Duncan C. and Mary Teresa (McDonell) McPhail.
Joyce married Robert C. Ziegler on August 21, 1971 in Ascension Catholic Church in Warren. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2007.
She was a 1956 graduate of Dominican High School in Detroit. Joyce was employed with Michigan Consolidated Gas Company in Detroit for 10 years and worked on the Blue Water Bridge for a Customs Broker for 8 years. She was a long time member of St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church and was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Ann (Tim) Schumaker of Burtchville and Rita (Alan) Luzynski of Lakeport; grandchildren, Noah T. Schumaker and Hailey M. Luzynski.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday in St. Edward on-the-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Lee Acervo will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
Visiting hours are 1-9pm Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home along with a visitation from 10am to 11am Wednesday at the church. A scripture service will be held at 7pm Tuesday evening.
Memorial contributions are requested to the wishes of the family.
